Insurance - Numerous cases tried to verdict in both state and federal courts, including defending direct actions against insurance companies involving bad faith, arson, and coverage determinations. Served as lead defense counsel in trying and resolving hundreds of “vanishing premium” life insurance cases, and provided numerous successful coverage opinions in connection with Hurricane Katrina.

Governmental Entities - Represents universities, state agencies, counties and municipalities in a variety of cases. Cases include breach of contract claims based upon the genetic selection / development of new strains of channel catfish, intellectual property / trade secret claims concerning the invention of software designed to score antlers of whitetail bucks through photographs, and numerous excessive force / police pursuit / governmental tort liability trials to verdict.

Companies and Individuals - Has represented Fortune 500 companies and other business entities in litigation as diverse as titanium tetrachloride release cases, creosote exposure environmental claims, and nursing home certificate of need lease/purchase litigation. Regularly drafts and negotiates contracts (including covenants not to compete), provides situational liability/risk assessment advice, litigates cases involving breach of contract claims, non-compete and theft of trade secret litigation, and provides employment law advice and counsel.
